It's All Lies: A True Story
Based on what you've read of the First Draft so far, you would:

Definitely buy the book when it is available on the shelves.
Probably would buy the book when it is available on the shelves.
Wouldn't buy it - it's not to my tastes.

Foreword

Hello gentle Reader.

Before plunging into Robin ‘Puck’ Goodfellow’s world, I hope you will indulge me for a few minutes.

This is the first in what I hope will be a series of ‘mystery/thriller’ adventures, featuring the character Puck and those that people his world. But this first story is – as advised throughout this site – based on events that occurred in the summer of January 2004, in Melbourne, Australia.

Regular readers of my online diary will no doubt be very familiar the story. But don’t think that ’It’s All Lies: A True Story’ will therefore play out to an obvious conclusion; some ‘dramatic license’ has been taken, in part to ensure that the story will appeal to Readers and non-Readers of the online diary alike.

In a sense, I’ve lived and breathed and sweated this story for almost 2 years – since January 2004. And a great number of people, both Regular Readers as well as friends and associates in both the Virtual and non-Virtual Worlds, have shared this experience with me. It is therefore extremely fortunate that National Novel Writing Month has happened along at this moment in Life; it is my sincere hope that this story (and to varying degrees, those that follow) will help to exorcise the demon once and for all.

If you would indulge me a little further, gentle Reader, there’s something I’d like to make clear; this is essentially a first draft and as such, in it’s raw state you can be sure that there will be spelling errors, some hideous abuse of grammar and punctuation, and possibly some mistakes in terms of continuity. And it’s probably worth adding that there may be some rather fanciful and ill-informed interpretations of how real world procedures (for example, the manner in which a police investigation into a murder) are conducted. Revised drafts will iron out these kinds of ‘bumps’, but in the meantime, I hope the experience won’t be too jarring for you, the Reader.

As we conclude, I’d like to point out that there are literally dozens of individuals to whom I owe my thanks and who deserve acknowledgement so far as this project is concerned. But we’ll save that list until the end. But you know who you are and I hope you are aware how much your support, love and friendship has meant to me; Monsters may walk this Earth, but it seems there will always be Angels to watch over us.

It is now time, gentle Reader, to introduce you to some friends of mine… and a killer.
